Better clothing begins with better fibres.
At South Ethos, materials are never an afterthought. They shape how a garment feels, how it wears and how often you reach for it.
We choose fibres for their comfort, quality, performance and provenance—focusing primarily on SUPIMA® cotton, Good Earth Cotton® and TENCEL™ Lyocell.
Each serves a different purpose. All reflect the same philosophy: fewer compromises, greater transparency and everyday clothing made with intention.
SUPIMA® Cotton
Exceptional softness. Enduring quality.
SUPIMA® is a premium, extra-long staple cotton grown exclusively in the United States. It represents less than one per cent of the world’s cotton supply.
Its longer fibres can be spun into a finer, smoother yarn with fewer exposed fibre ends. The result is fabric that feels naturally soft against the skin while retaining the strength needed for repeated wear.
Good Earth Cotton®
Australian-grown. Fully traceable.
Good Earth Cotton® is grown in Moree, New South Wales, using a data-led regenerative farming program that measures environmental outcomes and improves soil health.
FibreTrace® technology allows the cotton to be authenticated at key stages of its journey from farm to finished garment.
TENCEL™ Lyocell
Fluid comfort, made from wood.
TENCEL™ Lyocell is a branded cellulosic fibre produced by Lenzing from certified or controlled wood sources.
To create the fibre, wood pulp is dissolved and transformed into fine cellulose fibres. The TENCEL™ Lyocell production process uses a closed-loop system that recovers and returns more than 99.8% of the solvent to the production cycle.
The finished fibre is known for its smooth hand feel, natural drape and effective moisture management. It can bring softness and fluidity to a garment without making it feel delicate or overly formal.
