This South Ethos garment is made using Good Earth Cotton®, grown by Sundown Pastoral in Moree, New South Wales. From the farm where the cotton is cultivated to the Victorian facilities where the garment is made, its journey is recorded through a fully verified supply chain.

Grown in Moree, New South Wales
The story begins on Sundown Pastoral’s farms in northern New South Wales.
Good Earth Cotton® is produced through a data-driven farming program focused on soil health, biodiversity, efficient water use and the measurement of environmental impacts. Its farming practices can include minimum tillage, crop rotation, integrated pest management and the use of renewable energy.

For South Ethos, choosing this cotton is about more than selecting a natural fibre. It gives us a clearer understanding of where that fibre came from and how it moved through the supply chain.
Verification embedded in the fibre
During ginning—the stage when cotton fibre is separated from the seed—a unique FibreTrace® pigment is embedded directly into the cotton.
The pigment becomes part of the fibre and can be scanned to authenticate its identity as it moves through production. Verification occurs at key stages, including export, import, spinning, knitting, dyeing and garment manufacturing.
Each scan is securely stored, creating a verified digital record, supporting fibre authenticity, supply-chain transparency from farm to store and beyond.

Spun by verified partners
After ginning, the cotton is spun into yarn by one of the supply chain’s verified spinning partners.
Depending on the garment’s production batch, this stage is completed by Sapphire Fibres Limited in Pakistan or Shundao (Vietnam) Industrial Co., Ltd. The finished yarn is then imported into Australia for fabric and garment production.
These international spinning partners form part of the verified chain that allows the fibre’s journey to be authenticated across borders and between manufacturers.
Knitted and finished in Melbourne
Once the yarn reaches Australia, it is transferred to a unit in Cobblebank, Victoria.
Here, the yarn is knitted into fabric before being dyed and finished locally in Melbourne. This stage determines much of the fabric’s final character—from its colour and appearance to the way it feels and performs when worn.
The finished fabric then travels to Sunshine North, Victoria.
Cut and sewn in Australia
At our manufacturing unit in Victoria, the fabric becomes a South Ethos garment.
Each piece is cut, sewn and trimmed before undergoing quality checks. The completed garments are then packed and dispatched from the Victorian facility.
This is why your garment carries the Made in Australia label. It reflects the skilled local work involved in transforming verified cotton yarn into the finished piece you are wearing.
